Happy Munkey

Merch
Happy Munkey is a New York City cannabis-inspired lifestyle brand specializing in the "Higher End" of hospitality and media. They provide members and audience an entrance to the New York cannabis lifestyle through events, podcasts, video content, written content, and social media. Happy Munkey is the cannabis nexus of Corporate and Culture. Instead of California and surfboards, followers them from the suites to the streets of NYC and beyond.

Happy Munkey reached out to me with a simple message, "we need to get into merchandise!".
So that we did, starting with the first iteration of their soon-to-be seasonal "Merch Drops". These drops would include new items or accessories, clothing or apparel, stickers, and many other trinkets for all kinds of customers in the cannabis space. Brainstorm sessions and countless sketches eventually turned into physical prototypes we were able to dissect and improve upon. Each item has dozens of hours of research and testing.
Wanting to dive in and make a splash on the scene we collaborated and developed the first part of the official Happy Munkey Merch Line. The first drop included some common essential items that would accommodate cannabis users from novice or beginner levels, but also would still appeal to more experienced smokers as well. Two sold-out drops later and the brand now has more than half a dozen products for its customers.
It was an interesting adventure working closely with the creative director and brand manager to develop a consistent branding identity across the entire Happy Munkey platform. I helped with all of the merchandise concepts and prototype samples. All the product ideas they had would get fully drawn up and mocked up to perfection before sample making. I coordinated the manufacturing of samples and large volume orders directly with overseas manufacturers. Along with researching, designing, and production of all the packaging designs, podcast promotion design, and online marketing material.
